Community Care

Serving the community through meals, friendship, and Bible studyhands

Since 2012 we have been providing morning tea and an evening meal for the disabled and elderly residents living at 70-80 Wellington Rd, Chester Hill.  This is done on a fortnightly basis.    It's a great opportunity to bring the residents together, so that they not only can enjoy some home cooked meals, but can share their concerns, introduce new-comers, discuss their wellbeing, and any other problems arising within their complex.  We also like to do something special for them on their birthdays.   For some of the residents, these gatherings are the only opportunity they get to socialise and be with other people as they not able to get out and about because of their age or mobility.   It also gives us an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them… to offer prayer and to help out in any other way that we can.   At times, we have helped with house-cleaning, pruning shrubs and weeding their gardens.

Hope Central also provides a Bible study at a local aged care facility.  Residents gather together with our pastoral care co-ordinator for open conversation about the Bible.
